On June 14th, 2012, Linkin Park will be performing in St. Petersburg! The venue for the concert will be at SKK Arena, located across from Park Pobedi metro station (Yurij Gagarin prospekt, 8). This concert by Linkin Park will be their only concert in Russia this year! This world famous group is sure to put on an amazing performance and a spectacular show!

Linkin Park, a four-time winner for best alternative band in the American Music Awards, and winner of a Grammy Award, is returning to St. Petersburg! Linkin Park is not looking for more money, fame, or honor, but they are more interested in making their fans interested and enjoying their great music they perform and record. This year, their fifth studio album is being recorded.

The City Day festivities will start on Saturday during the afternoon, around 14:00 in the city center. At 14:00, festive bikers will present an opening ceremony named “Window to Europe.” Then at 14:15, at Malaya Sadovaya Street, until 22:00 all are welcomed to a great event. A fashion show and parade will take place, as well as a comic fashion show called, “Fashion Verdict.” Then in front of Gostiny Dvor from 14:30-22:00, a dance and vocal program will take place all day long. The program includes performers from different countries, cultures, and themes. This interactive program is great for all audiences, and you are even invited to take part in some parts of this program!

THE BOAT TRIP IS NOT GOING TO BE CANCELLED BUT THERE WILL BE CHANGE IN THE DATE AND TIME. WE WILL SEND A TEXT MESSAGE TO ALL THOSE WHO BOUGHT TICKETS TO SEE THE FIREWORKS!!!

The celebration of ice cream will be held during the City Day celebrations on May 26th at 11:00. During the celebration, everyone can find something to do! Enjoy a vivid and memorable concert of music and dance! Also, everyone will be able to enjoy great ice cream, and several different flavors of ice cream with the best prices in St. Petersburg! Those who love sports can even enjoy ice cream as well as taking part in football and air hockey events! The venue will be at Ostrovsky Ploshad, metro station Gostiniy Dvor. Entrance to this event is free for everyone! So come out and enjoy some ice cream and have a blast!

There will be a huge PILLOW FIGHT in St. Petersburg on June 10th at 12:30! Come and join in the fun, as it is always proved to be a success with a lot of people, and a lot of fun! There are some rules though to this event, but it makes it even better! 

The fight is going to happend beween those whose birthday falls on an odd day (the Team in Black) and those whose birthday falls on an even day (the Team in White). The Black team gathers at 12:30 at Kazansky Cathedral, whereas the White Time are expected to meet on Malaya Sadovaya Street.  During the pillow fight, everyone must remove all piercings, glasses, contact lenses, earrings, and everything else that could be of harm to others or yourself. Remember, the main goal of this event is to have fun, not hurt other people!!! The pillow should be soft (!!!), so it does not hurt anyone else.

Starting May 29th in St. Petersburg, water taxis will start to work around the city. There will be four different lines of travel for the water taxis. They will be on: the resort line, central line, coastal line, and Neva line. Also in June, a line to Kronshtadt will open. There will be a total of 20 different stops around the city.

The Cycling Parade of St. Petersburg will take place on May 20th! The bike rally will be for two hours long, and is organized by the “Lets Bike it” group. The bike rally will begin at Shpalernaya Street and finish at the Field of Mars in the center of the city. Cyclists will arrange length markers in the city center on May 20th to show how far they have ridden around the city. Participants must follow two main rules, do not rush, and ride in the right lane on the road. The parade is bound to attract attention of authorities and residents of the city, to show that the city is lacking the correct infrastructure to accommodate the growing number of cyclists in the city.

The main celebration of St. Petersburg’s foundation will be held from May 27th to May 29th. The great celebration of City Day will feature several great performances and host service famous artists around the city to commemorate the founding of St. Petersburg. 

St. Petersburg residents and visitors will become participants in a large-scale citywide festival. There will be a great open-air international jazz festival, circus program, music, live performances, dance, and theatre performances around the center of the city. Also the City Day holiday will have skateboarders, and other extreme sport action. Military bands will provide music also, to create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcomed.

The International Festival of 3D paintings on asphalt will take place from June 30th to July 1st. The even called, “Colors of St. Petersburg”, is the first major event in Russia of this kind, dedicated to the creation of three-dimensional drawings on asphalt. Each visitor will be able to draw, as well as to learn how to draw from more than 30 artists. These 30 artists will compete for an opportunity for the Festival of 3D drawings in Italy.

NIGHT OF MUSEUMS is an annual event dedicated to the International Day of Museums. St. Petersburg’s museums, large and small, traditionally open their doors to visitors in the evening and all night long in honor of this event. The museums prepare a special program that follows like this: a daylong special exhibition, concerts, performances, author tours, master classes, and historical reenactment.
