Attractions of St-Petersburg

This is the best way to see all the main attractions in St. Petersburg in one day! If you are only here for a short business trip, or just traveling through Europe or Russia, then this is the way to get around St. Petersburg in one day!

1. Start near the metro station “Admiraltiskaya”, close to Nevsky Prospect. All around, you can see downtown St. Petersburg and if you go straight down Nevsky Prospect to the River Neva, you end up at Palace Square.

2. Then from Palace Square and the Hermitage, you will be able to see the great Pushkin Square Stables on the way to the Savior of Spilled Blood Church, which is perhaps the most recognized landmark in the city.

3. After the Savior on Spilled Blood Church, make your way to the square of Arts or to the Great Russian Museum. To visit both places and get the full experiences of both of them, unfortunately you will not have enough time to do this.

4. From the Russian Museum, you need to go to Michael’s Castle, which is a must see place in St. Petersburg.

5. Next travel down Nevsky Prospect until you hit the Fontanka River. Here you will see more fabulous and historical buildings in St. Petersburg. On the way to the Fontanka, you will see the Kazanskiy Cathedral, House of Singer, Roman Catholic Church and the staterooms of the Stroganov Palace, or leave time to visit the Yusupov Palace.

6. After this, make your way back to the Hermitage and take about two to three hours to enjoy yourself in one of the largest museums in the world. Sometimes it is free, or if you are a student with a valid id, you are always free.

7. After the Hermitage, make your way to one of the richest mansions in the country as you come to the Promenade des Anglais. This mansion amazes almost everyone who enters its doors. Definitely a sight to see.

8. Turning to the New Admiralty Canal, you will come to the poorest areas of imperial St. Petersburg, Kolomna. Here you can see the triumphal Arch of New Holland, and one of the Miracles of St. Petersburg.

9. After this, you still have time to walk around the Moika embankment and the Yusupov Palace, which is considered the most luxurious palace in St. Petersburg.

To complete your day, you MUST buy a ticket and go up to the colonnade of St. Isaac’s Cathedral to see the unforgettable views of downtown St. Petersburg and Nevsky Prospect.
