St. Petersburg Set to Host the “MULTIVISION”

The best animated films from around the world will be presented in St. Petersburg from 4 to 6 November. The Multivision festival will be held at the “Rodina” cinema center. There will be more than 250 pictures, which are mostly winners of prestigious international awards. All kinds of modern animation techniques, computer 3D-animation painted with hand, puppet and flash animation, a lot of different genres: fairy tales, comedy, philosophical parable, adventure.

In this year's “Multivision” program, the audience will be entertained with screenings of the prize-winning films of 2011 in the French animation festival held in Annecy. The new film “Maska” by the Quay Brothers . New works by the cult Japanese independent artist Mirai Mizue. New movies, which received the “Oscar” of the French studio Autour de Minuit will also be on disply. There will be displays of the best children's cartoons. At the night show of the British Animation Awards Night, which will be held on November 4, viewers will see all the “cream” of the British animation created in recent years. As well as exclusive screenings of animation from the International Animated Film Association ASIFA, studiiAardman (England), Premium Films, Autour de Minuit (France), Moscow animation studio “Pilot”, etc.

A new program “animated video installation” will be presented to viewers. The festival will also feature video installations by Max Hattler - the famous German video artist. The festival will present his animated loops “1923 aka Heaven” and “1925 aka Hell” and video animation installation “Sync”.
