Rosturizm Proposes a Tax Free System for Tourists to Russia

To increase the flow of tourists into Russia, Rosturizm proposes to introduce a tax-free system, which is to return the value of taxes on purchases.

Currently, the Federal Tourism Agency prepares proposals and suggestion letters to the appropriate agencies to support this initiative.

The introduction of tax free for foreigners should make shopping more profitable and thus attract more tourists to Russia. According to statistics from the Federal Tourism Agency, at the end of 2014 Russia was visited by 32.4 million foreigners, which is 5% more than in 2013. 

The tax-free question has already been raised in the past year at the government level, but then at the Finance Ministry did not consider it necessary initiative.
