St. Petersburg is becoming the sports capital of the world

St. Petersburg is becoming the sports capital of the world

The development of sports in St. Petersburg will be allocated 80 billion rubles to fund projects.

In July Georgy Poltavchenko signed a target program for the development of physical culture and sports from the years 2015-2020, created under the concept of development of St. Petersburg "Strategy-2030". It will take 6 years complete the planned projects and about 80 billion rubles will be spent.

At the same time, the city is preparing for its reception of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and there is no doubt that all the work will be completed on time. During a recent conference call with the cities in which stadiums will be built for the World Cup, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that there is active progress for the new football stadium on Krestovsky Island in Saint Petersburg.

The very next day, Georgy Poltavchenko and Vladimir Putin, who discussed the concept of development of St. Petersburg until 2030, the mayor noted that the city's economy is stable, the budget revenues compared to last year increased by 14%, and investment in fixed assets increased to 12%. And, despite the sanctions, no foreign investor from St. Petersburg left. This means that the city can count on  stable development.
