In St. Petersburg for the first time will be a parade of historical tanks


In the coming year, the 70th anniversary of the complete liberation from the blockade of Leningrad will be celebrated. Thus, January 27, 2014 for the first time in the history of St. Petersburg on Nepokorennyh prospekt will be held a grand parade, which will employ more than 100 units of historical military equipment, and will consist of about 1,500 soldiers. 

The parade marking the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad blockade, this year for the first time in the history of the city will take place on Nepokorennyh prospekt and become a really big act. At the same time the parade will feature more than 100 pieces of modern and historical military equipment. In the ranks go about 1,500 troops and more than 200 of them will be dressed in historical uniforms of soldiers and officers of the Red Army which liberated Leningrad from the blockade.

Of course, the main feature of the parade will be the participation of the military vehicles from WWII. Among them, St. Petersburg will see the legendary T-34 tanks and self-propelled SU-100 guns.

Residents of the city on the Neva River at the event for the first time, in a long time, will be able see the modern battle tanks T-72B3, BTR-82A combat vehicles BMP-3 armored "Tiger", artillery MSTA-S complexes "Armour-C1” and C -300, as well as the "Iskander". Told the head of the press service of the Western Military District Oleg Kochetkov.

Also, on this day at 21:00 at the Peter and Paul fortress, Ploshad Pobedy, 300 years St Petersburg's anniversary park, and Nepokorennyh prospekt, will take place a fireworks display all at the same time.
