The National Library of Russia in St Petersburg, was founded in 1795, it's one of the largest libraries not only in Russia but also in the world. The Library possesses a exceptionally rich collection of incunabula (over 6,000 items) and rare books (over 800,000 items), including early Russian printed books, the greatest collection of Peter the Great era books, the remarkable collections of books produced by Elseviers, Aldus Manutius, and their heirs.

CABIN OF PETER THE GREAT

Cabin of Peter the Great

A short walk east along the waterfront brings you to the city's oldest building - a small wooden cabin, built in 1703 and home to Peter in the earliest days of the city's existence. Protected now by an outer brick building, the cabin is furnished with his personal possessions and the outer house also protects a small sailing boat that Peter is reputed to have built himself.

LENINGRAD ZOO

Leningrad Zoo

Leningrad Zoo is located in Alexander Park - of which it is effectively part - on the Petrograd Side. It was founded by two animal-lovers - Sofia and Julius Gerhardt - in 1865. Today it is the second largest Zoo in Russia (after Moscow Zoo), with 2,000 animals from 410 species.The Zoo is located in Alexander Park between Gorkovskaya and Sportivnaya Metro stations.

The city has announced the creation of a new zoo outside the city. Spreading over 300 hectares (1.15 square miles), the new St Petersburg Zoo will feature a great, green design and aim to recreate the bygone supercontinent, Panagaea.

Pavlovsk Park

The Pavlovsk Park is all beauty and peace. It is the second largest park in Europe after Richmond in England. It was laid out in the English landscape park style, unlike the parks in Peterhof and Tsarskoe Selo which were conceived as French regular gardens. You'll see the difference. In Pavlovsk the park resembles a forest, with a lot of trees, a river crossing huge fields, and a few pavilions lost somewhere on this vast territory. You'll be enchanted by these all-green surroundings that together with the Pavlovsk Palace are among our most cherished treasures.It's a must visit, you will be amazed.

The Museum of Retro Cars is just one of many interesting places in St. Petersburg. This museum is home to several great, unique cars. These cars are from several different time periods during the 20th century. Some cars were owned by historical figures, celebrities, and also include Soviet and foreign cars. 

The museum has a collection of famous brands, and some of them were only produced in certain factories. All cars are in excellent condition, and for a fee you can even sit in the car and take a picture!

St. Petersburg only airport, PULKOVO (LED), is one of the busiest airports in Russia. In size, its relatively small compared to the massive airports in Moscow, but on the other hand, Pulkovo is very easy to get around and convenient for travelers. The airport is located about 20 minutes from Moskovskaya metro station. Pulkovo has two terminals, Pulkovo-1, and Pulkovo-2. Pulkovo-1 is home to mostly domestic flights, and Pulkovo-2 is the main terminal for international flights. In a year, nearly 8.5 million passengers travelled through Pulkovo.

It was one of the first private museums in Russia, which was created in 1998. At first, the museum’s collection was based on just private collections from donors, but now the museum is host to several different dolls from different collectors and companies.
